Israel has been unfaithful to God. But God doesn't stop loving and caring about them. He wants His people back. ' 'Return faithless people'' declares the Lord, 'for I am Your husband. I will choose you....Then I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will lead you with knowledge and understanding.'' (Jeremiah 3:14-15) God knows what is best for His people, but He wants them to choose Him, not force them into a relationship with them. Reason no. 757 :)
